THE CROWN OF INTEGRATION

This sculpture embodies the quiet architecture of resilience the rising form of a woman reclaiming her sense of center. Born from contrasting stones, ILIAC I tells the story of wholeness built from contradiction: darkness and light, rough and smooth, hollow and full.

Each segment represents a phase of self-knowing. The base, grounded in deep black, speaks to the unspoken weight we carry the stories we’ve swallowed. As the form narrows and ascends, it passes through layers of exploration and introspection: a jagged black memory, a form shaped by time and erosion, a void once felt as loss now standing as open space. At the very top, a dark sphere, polished and reflective, rests like a crown not of triumph, but of integration.

The sculpture echoes the iliac bone: a vessel of creation, rooted in strength and vulnerability. It invites the viewer to stand still and witness their own layers not as burdens, but as steps toward embodiment. The sphere does not fall because the base, though narrow, knows how to hold it. This
is how we evolve. This is how we hold things we once believed we couldn’t.
